Papercut art inspired by Jewish tradition, made for modern spaces
everyday objects, and the places that shape our lives. Each piece is designed and cut using a combination of hand and machine techniques, resulting in detailed paper artwork that feels contemporary while honoring tradition.
Whether you’re collecting a finished design or commissioning a custom papercut, every piece begins as a sketch and is crafted as a lasting family piece.
Art that marks family milestones
I create custom papercut art for weddings, ketubahs, and bar and bat mitzvahs—pieces made to mark family milestones and be passed from one generation to the next. My work draws on shared symbols, regional landmarks, and familiar motifs, shaping them into art that reflects both personal stories and a broader cultural language.
Meet the artist
Evelyn Goldman is a papercut artist and the founder of Romance and Mishegoss, a studio born out of a desire to proudly share her Jewish heritage. Her papercut art has been exhibited at many of the 23 Wake County Public Libraries—the largest public library system in North Carolina, where she lives. Through these connections, she has participated in “Meet the Artist” events and taught a variety of crafting classes in the community. In addition, the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience carries select pieces of her papercut work in its gift shop. Her very first art exhibition took place at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport, Connecticut, while she was still in high school.
