Description
This papercut began as part of a Jewish Heritage Month installation at a public library, created to honor Jewish folklore and our long tradition of papercutting art. At the center of this piece stands the Golem of Prague, the legendary guardian formed from clay to protect the Jewish community.
The Golem, with his outstretched hand, is strong and grounded, as both protector and presence. In Jewish storytelling, the Golem carries themes of protection, responsibility, and the power of language and creation. Here, those ideas form a commanding presence and draw the eye as soon as you enter the room.
